This organically crafted Geranium Essential Oil is steam distilled from the tender green leaves and flowering tops of the Pelargonium x asperum (syn Pelargonium graveolens) plant. Geranium Essential Oil is stored in specialized glands throughout the green parts of this vigorous perennial which is released when crushed. The essential oil has a fresh, soft yet penetrating lemony, rosy aroma with rich, leafy green/herbaceous body notes.
Geranium Essential Oil is highly valued and used in premium brands of perfumery and cosmetics. Pelargonium graveolens [Family: Geraniaceae] is native of eastern part of the Mediterranean region, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Mozambique. But this small shrub also grows widely on Reunion island, France; Spain; Italy; Morocco; Egypt and China. The harvest period extends from march to September in China, while in Egypt, the leaves are cropped in June and July.
